Nourish is a hospitality training program for young people aged 16-25 who face barriers to education and employment. OzHarvest runs the 18-week program in partnership with registered training organisations, where students graduate with a nationally recognised Certificate II in Cookery (SIT20421), new life skills and opportunities for work or further education. Nourish runs in Adelaide, Newcastle and Sydney, with two intakes per year in February and August, and is free of cost for participants.
Along with the accredited Certificate in Cookery, Nourish covers customer service, coffee training, healthy eating, food safety and sustainability. Students are supported by a nurturing team with regular mentoring as they learn foundational life skills, financial literacy, and job-readiness training. OzHarvest has a growing list of food donors and industry contacts who are willing to provide work experience and employment opportunities for students who successfully complete the program.
